The Impressions worship lead for the youth conference at PJ Gospel Hall last saturday [2-5-2009]
And then Juwita Suwito also sang some songs.
So, here are the pics that i took with my old skool, dying Panasonic DMC-LZ2 camera. My sensor is actually semi - dead, but still can use la although its horrible. Its noisy and grainy as usual. The spotlights there were also not bright enough making conditions worse as my camera lens is not that fast.

Before we start, lets have some motion blur shots first.

.JPG)
This shot just proves how good is panasonics image stabilizer. Sitting in a moving car, more than 1 sec exposure time and look at the clock there. Just so little blur.
.JPG)
Ok, now lets get to business. Lets see if you can spot what model is the guy with the dslr using. Answer will be revealed at the end.
Worship leader this time - Ritchie Tay
.JPG)
Pianist - Jackie
.JPG)
Bassist - Kevin Foong [my father la...] (5 string bass......hahaha)
.JPG)
Lead guitarist - James Yee
.JPG)
Keyboard - Steve Leong
.JPG)
Drummer - Nigel Tay [I know it's blur but just bear with it till i get smth better la]
.JPG)
Backup - Adam and Rachel with the violin

See the guy in orange? He was so stressed up, running up, down, left, right and everywhere because there were plenty of technical problems.

3rd clue. Front shot but a bit blur. See whether u can figure out the model number. haha

And then, Juwita Suwito went and sang a few songs.
.JPG)
.JPG)
.JPG)
4th clue. One of the lens he was using was AF-S VR Zoom-NIKKOR 70-200mm f/2.8G IF-ED. Estimated market price for this tele lens is RM6k!! He brought 2 lens and he changes it on the run. The other lens he was using i think is AF-S Nikkor14-24mm f2.8G ED (114°). super wide angle and super expensive. go google the specs if you want to know more.
.JPG)
.JPG)
.JPG)
.JPG)
.JPG)
5th clue. By here you should be able to guess by the strap that he's using.
.JPG)
But u might get it wrong because all these straps can be bought separately.
Juwita then went on the grand piano and sang another song while playing the piano.
.JPG)
.JPG)
.JPG)
And then this guy shared his testimony about his mission to China and all.
.JPG)
.JPG)
And then this guy shared a little. If i'm not mistaken his name is Andrew i think.
.JPG)
.JPG)
And so there you have it. The END.

Ohhh....yeah.....the answer.............is................a NIKON D3 la. what else could it be la. RM17000, body only. Weighs 1.3KG without lens n flash. 11fps. ISO 25600 which is cleaner than my ISO 400.

Taking pictures during the day might seem easy for normal shutterbugs. But, ask any pro and they'll start telling you about harsh shadows, fill flash, with a large softbox to really diffuse the flash, just enough to fill in the harsh shadows.
But for this time, I was fortunate enough that the weather was the best situation to take photos. It was about 11am, so the sun was shinning brightly, BUT, while being bright, it was cloudy. Making a nice natural softbox which diffused the natural sunlight.
All this happened during my recent trip to the ostrich farm in Jelita, Seremban, Negeri Sembilan.Click more for the awesome pics. [Click on the pics for bigger size and also you can view the EXIF data if you are using Firefox or Opera when u right click on it and click properties]
Located about 10km from Seremban, visitors are briefed on the ostrich industry by an experienced multilingual guide who will take visitors through the farm. Visitors are then taken to a breeding pen where a demonstration on the right way to pick up eggs will be shown.
Visitors are allowed to ride ostriches and those who do so are given certificate qualifying them as ostrich jockeys. A visit to the farm is now not complete without the race and the chariot ride.
Only four to five birds would take part in a race and the interesting feature of an ostrich race is the way the birds manoeuvre at bends.
There are no rules in an ostrich race and the first bird that turns back and heads for the starting point is the winner. They can just run a few metres and head back to the starting point. An ostrich can achieve a speed of up to 70kph.
The other attractions at the farm include ostrich rides where visitors are also given certificates, and the “man against egg’’ challenge where one stands on an ostrich egg in an attempt to break it.
Apart from the farm activities, there is a souvenir store, a stall serving ostrich satay as well as ostrich essence with ginseng are available.
And now for the pics.
.JPG)
There were many ants all around the place. Probably because the soil over there is a suitable habitat.

The ostriches!

The peck but they don't bite because they do not have any teeth.

Yeah!....i know.....

Now for some of ostrich photoshoots. One thing amazing here is, I was just using a Panasonic Lumix DMC-LZ2 and not a dslr. The difference is, mine was using a small teeny sensor whereas a common dslr would be using a very much larger APS-C sized sensor. This would make it easy for a dslr to acheive a very shallow depth-of-field expecially when using fast lenses such as f/1.8 or f/1.4. But for me, the depth-of-field on my compact camera here is amazing, although any photographers would know that contrast-based autofocus would be a bit slow as in the case here. In simple english, this means that the background is nicely blurred while the main subject remains sharp in focus and also, it is not easy to get this shot with the slow autofocus of a compact consumer camera.

Notice the bright backlight but yet the subject is well exposed?

One of my favourites!
_e1.JPG)
And then we proceeded to the ostrich riding area.
.JPG)
Its eyes are covered with a sock so that it wont panic and start attacking people.
.JPG)
_e1.JPG)
Sorry, but you can actually find these everywhere around the place there.
.JPG)
And then the race where there is no rules. The tough thing about this game is to control the birds. Controlling one is not easy as one has to cover one side of its eyes for it to turn the other way. For example, if you want to turn left, you would have to cover its right eye.
.JPG)
And its not easy to maintain your balance on it as its featheres are pretty slippery and silky.
Notice the guy falling down at the bottom part of the pic.
.JPG)
Ostrich skin used to make stuffs like handbags.
.JPG)
They even drill a hole in the top of the egg and drain out its contents to get the empty shell.
.JPG)
And then it can be decorated to form decorative items.
.JPG)
Some pics on their feathers.

Then we saw a small coop where they kept some birds and chickens there.
There's one particular one here where it's a bit bald.

Remember my previous post about my new Intel Core 2 Quad PC?
Well, based on that post, i stated that I am using an nVidia 9600GT. It's by Gigabyte and it comes with a program called the Gigabyte Gamer HUD.

I still havent say how i crashed my computer. So the whole story is, actually i used that software to perform Software Overclocking. I overclocked it slowly and after every small step, i would run a round of benchmark from 3d Mark 2006. My card even reached 80°C!
After increasing bit by bit, all of a sudden.....pooofff!!
It crashed. I didnt select the "Disable system restart on system failure" at the F8 menu during startup, so my system automatically restarted.
And then, i got this, the "Bluescreen error dialog".
